Californication Season 6

The news is just out. Showtime network has decided to renew the hit show Californication for another season. Hank Moody and the rest of our beloved characters will return for the sixth season in a row. Production will commence in Los Angeles later this year.

Exciting stuff ;)

Considering we are still deep in season 5, it is hard to predict what will happen in season 6, but considering what we have seen in the previous years, one thing is certain: it will be a lot of fun to watch.

We met and fell in love with several supporting characters through the seasons. Some only featured in single seasons, but some came back later. Which season 5 characters would you most like to see come back in Californication season 6?

Maggie Grace has landed a major role in the season 6 of Californication.

Grace has secured the role of “Faith,” a character with nine-episode arc next year. She will play a muse/groupie to famous rock stars on the show. “Faith has been on the road with various bands for years and is considered a muse to elite artists,” reads the character description. “Though she has a fondness for sex, drugs and rock and roll, she remains quite religious. She meets and becomes friends with Hank Moody [David Duchovny] and eventually, that friendship blossoms into more.”

We remember Maggie from "Lost" and will get to know her even better as she appears in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Former Skid Row singer gets his part

Remember Skid Row? Remember Sebastian Bach. No, not the famous composer, but the singer of Skid Row, the rock band. Of course you do!

Anyway, Sebastian got a part in the new season of Californication. This is what he had to say about it:

“In California shooting new episode of Californication, the Showtime series starring David Duchovny! Very excited to be on the show! I play a guitar player as you can see by this pic taken yesterday. My role on the show is killer and interesting and I am honoured to be part of Californication's sixth season! Stay tuned for Show times ... only on Showtime!”

Remember Maggie from Friends? Or should I say remember Janice, Chandler's annoying girlfriend? Well, she'll annoy you again as she has just been cast for the role of "a male-hating self-help guru who becomes entangled with David Duchovny’s Hank." Brilliant.

She'll appear in several different episodes of Californication, so it won't be just a quick appearance. We are yet to see how important her character will be in the end, but to be honest, I can't remember a single character that wasn't entertaining.

Apart from Friends, Maggie Wheeler also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm and in Archer. But you might also remember her from one of the earlier episodes of the Xfiles where she already shared screen with David Duchovny.

According to THR, the 43-year Manson is set to appear in the seventh episode of Season 6. The episode will feature Manson when he shows up at a party thrown at Atticus Fetch’s house, so we’ll get to see the musician interact with characters in a party setting as well as chat with Hank.

What else is there to say? Well, not much. Can't wait for the sixth season to start!

The show features a best-selling author and a full time womanizer Hank Moody. Although the term womanizer might suggest he's a shallow man, he's so much more than that. A loving father, a loving ex-husband and an amazing friend are just a few expressions that determine him. A funny cynic? Yes, that's the expression I was looking for. Hilarious in his melancholy.

I'm already looking forward for him to continue entertaining us in Californication season 6.

Being a bestselling author, life has been easy for Hank. At least financially. His love life, on the other hand, has seen its share of ups and downs. He knows who the love of his life is, he just has a hard time staying faithful to Karen, his ex wife. They broke up and patched things up quite a few times during the first 4 season, while in the beginning of the fifth season (with a small time shift), we realise she got married to another man. We will see what Californication season 6 brings in the love department.

There is also the love he has for her daughter, Becca. This one is limitless, he would do pretty much anything for her daughter. She is a pretty cool and laid back teenage girl and in season 5 she gives Hank a taste of his own medicine, when she starts dating a younger copy of her father. But while we learned to love Hank despite all his shortcomings, we can't say the same for Tyler. And I'm not just saying we don't like him, I have proof. If you scroll a bit towards the top, you will see a poll with fans voting on who they would like to see in season 6. Tyler is the least wanted character.

So, the fifth season ended with a cliffhanger which I am not about to write about, because there might be readers that haven't seen the complete season 5 yet and I would just spoil the fun for them. But for the rest of us - wow, what a way to leave us hanging!
